@erico>> With the factory installed driver I also could run Crysis warhead though the Frames Per Seconds weren't above 30 .But Battlefield 3 was impossible to play as it went blank screen after running. Then I installed 12.2 preview. Now games run but random BSODs, crashes happen. So if you are in factory driver for 7690m xt,I believe Battlefield 3 won't run in your system. Try it first.

I have been looking for Battlefield 3 and have had mixed success. Do you know of a link to the demo?

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warefare ran better than Crysis Warhead. I will put up a video of my gameplay on the Envy 17 later.

Re: TO ALL 7690m XT LAPTOP USERS - PLEASE POST TO SHOW HP WE WANT A REPLACEMENT OR REFUND

You know what is pathetic. I have been emailing HP to try to find a solution and got this email.

1. Uninstall the current driver for the Radeon.

2. Install this driver from HP (Radeon HD 7690M XT; Version: 8.882.2.2000; Filename: sp54917.exe): http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-100885-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=

3. Install this driver from AMD (AMD Catalyst™ 12.4 driver Version) OVER the driver from HP (do not uninstall the HP driver): http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/catalyst_mobility_64-bit_util.exe

4. Reboot

5. Play game

(no i havent tried this yet but hold on)  then i notice it looks like an exact copy and paste of Brickdeisel's solution on this forum. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=358696

That isn't a demo.

Thanks for the link, but I don't really care for games with cracks.

Hi,

I have the  dv6-6c50ca and all I want is a driver for the 7690m xt graphics card that should have come out several months ago.. Barring that I would like to be refunded for the amount I payed or have my computer replaced with a computer that works as advertised..

Re: TO ALL 7690m XT LAPTOP USERS - PLEASE POST TO SHOW HP WE WANT A REPLACEMENT OR REFUND

Duped here too...... and they sent it while I was still in grad school.

So I didn't even get to open the box for over two weeks, then another two days passed before I could be of the mindset to open it, boot it up, update everything, transfer things over and try things out.

Of course I tried everything I could, AND of course I tried delaying the inevitable slew of tech support jargon, a repair center sendoff (21 days were passed - gee you THINK?) etc....

Nothing but HP being done here with me because I did in fact state in an email that hey look if I can't at least get a full refund (they managed to have what they could do for me "reduced" every call/time I spoke) well.... that I would complain and wished I could afford an attorney to combat their giant megacorporate muscle.

SERIOUSLY did the "repair center" TRY running 3d applications? How about numerous types of benchmarks..

I won't even mention that they didn't bother addressing the CPU "lockups" I seemed to have on rare occasion (quad core 2.3 ghz - which at the time cost 150$ extra over base price option btw though it is the default now) locks up and wouldn't even let you move the mouse cursor (idiopathic in nature - no apparent cause, and with minimal resources and nothing running)

This is bogus - I wish I would have waited a whole month - now I spent as much of my one time student loan laptop disbursement as possible on this solely so I could have something remotely "future proof" as a desktop replacement (thanks HP really..... after all you don't have to deal with us again - you can simply funnel money in from new suckers - and you already suckered us)

We shouldn't have to endure the horrendous insult/slap in the face of a 3 year old "rebadged" chinese outsourced GPU that we paid 200$ on the dropdown for that won't run at it's advertised clock speed with ANY other drivers other than a 3 year old set of drivers that won't even run things from THEN let alone NOW properly - did I mention when I ran the FFXIV benchmark I would have occasional "dip to 0" moments?

Yeah.  Fun times.

Replacement or Full refund. Period. Thank you.

Re: TO ALL 7690m XT LAPTOP USERS - PLEASE POST TO SHOW HP WE WANT A REPLACEMENT OR REFUND

[ Edited ]

The only way to maybe get them to respond is to do what I have done and tell all your real life and online friends not to buy HP because of this.  That is what I been doing and the only way for HP to get rid of the word of mouth, which in my case is a LOT of people, is to do right by us.  The longer they wait to formally respond is more negative feelings toward them as the word spreads.  Hate to see people laid off or companies fail, but they need to realise that we are customers and they should deliver what they promise.
