Trouble viewing Bluray movies

Hi,

I have a hp-dv5t with Optiarc BD5500S Bluray drive. I am able to watch normal dvds, but not the movie BankJob(It is the first bluray dvd i have tried). HP Quickplay plays the trailers but not the actual movie, the menu appears but I can't click "Play movie"  or any other options. I have HP Quickplay 3.7 verys sion.

Though I have updated to the latest version 3.7.v6112. Quickplay says there is an update available.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Uninstall Quickplay and install it again from this link.

Re: Trouble viewing Bluray movies

Tried it. Problem still remains same. The version from info button of quickplay is 3.7(6310). My device manager now shows an unknown device, vista couldn't find any drivers for it. It is odd, because all my hardware is correctly detected(BDROM drive, usb, fingerprint reader etc...)

Thanks for your suggestion though!

Re: Trouble viewing Bluray movies

Well I've got a solution for the first problem, at least.  I don't know about your current one.

A known issue exists with all BluRay players operating on HP notebooks.  You can't click on "play", but you can use the arrow keys to select it and press enter, or use a remote control if your notebook came with one.

This can sometimes be fixed with a bluray player firmware update or a BIOS update, if it can be fixed currently.  Depends on the bluray player on the notebook.

Re: Trouble viewing Bluray movies

Thanks samschilling that fixed it. I tried arrow keys before, but they didn't work. I think the Quickplay version Daniel linked to is different from the one get when you update from within Quickplay.
