Updated Driver, now can only use comp in Safe Mode

I downloaded this update sp26629.exe from this page http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?lc=en&cc=us&softwareitem=pv-39118-1 and everything on my desktop changed so I thought I did something wrong.  I did a restore in Safe Mode (tried several restores) and every time my system reboots, it get's as far as the Microsoft XP screen and before it gets to the welcome login screen, my system restarts.  I can only get into Safe Mode as I tried going to the last known good configuration and starting normal and I still have problem of system restarting before I get to the login page.

System:  Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, SP3

Display Adapter:  ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series

More Info:  HP Compaq Presario, AMD Athlon 64 Processor, 3500+

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Re: Updated Driver, now can only use comp in Safe Mode

Did you try to roll back the driver. This way if it is the driver preventing it from starting it should eliminate that.

In safe mode right click your computer and go to manage.

In the left pane click on device manager.

Expand display adapters in the right pane and double click your video card.

Under the driver tab click on the rollback driver option and follow prompts if asked.

Reboot normally.

I hope this can help you.
