I have a strange problem with the LCD video. The screen has strange colors and green sparkles at start-up. About thirty minutes later the LCD video display is almost perfect. There are still lines, sparkles, and blotches in the background. Most windows are good video except in the color regions, where sparkles and splotches are evident.
I have tried an external monitor, perfect display. I have also tried the HDMI output into a television, perfect. I purchased a replacement LCD and installed it with identical resulting video problems. I have since tried both LCD's in a known good identical laptop and both LCD's display perfectly.
My initial conclusion was a bad LCD, but that is incorrect. There appears to be a heat related problem in evident in the video circuit to the internal LCD. The video card (Nvidia) appears to be OK due to the perfect RGB and HDMI output video observations. Could this be a bad cable and cold solder joint on the cables?
Thanks for any insights that you have.
