Re: Windows 7 64 bit Drivers

Hi:

Try this one:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...

If you get an OS not supported error, close out of that. Click on your VGA adapter in the device manager, then click on the driver tab. Click on the update driver button. Select the "Browse my computer for software" method and browse to C:\SWSetup\sp40557. Make sure the include subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way.

Re: Windows 7 64 bit Drivers

Hi Paul

Tried both ways still gave me the same error.

when i forced it to install it told me the driver was not compatible.

If I boot normally then the graphics driver that windows 7 installs does not work.

I then do a safe boot and go to the device manager and see that windows has installed two of the same driver.

I remove both and reboot then the computer boots fine.

when i check the device manager now there is that little yellow tag on the graphics driver.  rebooting starts the cycle all over again.

Hope that makes sense.

Any help would be appreciated

[ Edited ]

Hi:

Sorry that driver didn't work.

The Intel GMA950 video adapter in your notebook is Windows 7 capable.

I would reinstall W7 x64 and then launch the Windows update program to see if it downloads and installs the video driver from Windows Update.

I still don't understand why the graphics wasn't installed right from the installation DVD.

Windows 7 x64 installed the graphics on my nc6400 with the same video as yours w/o me having to install any driver.

See this guy's post from another site...he also said Windows update automatically installs the video driver.
