Most monitors are very "smart" these days and come "Vista smart" and "Windows 7" smart, or ready.
Take a look at this document that will explain what you need to do and how to set up your monitor:
Using Two or More Video Displays in Windows 7
Your HP monitor has it's own webpage! On these pages you will find a driver for your monitor and a manual, too. Pick the exact model, enter your Operating System and go...
