Thank you for posting this, I am actually having the same problem with the old driver. It renders a new game i bought nearly unplayable due to fps issues despite having all the required specs. Really frustrating, but good to know that I am not the only one.

Oddly enough, I fixed it today. Seriously. After going through the ringer with HP support for 2 hours, I tried something crazy: I uninstalled Catalyst. Just Catalyst, left in the driver and everything else, and rebooted. I no longer get a prompt when switching cards, and Catalyst itself is gone - but who cares? Skyrim works, as well as every previous game I had an issue with, and all that freed up VRAM got me an extra 8fps AT HIGHER SETTINGS.

For anyone still looking for an answer, it seems the HP dispatched an Intern on the issue. Check out this thread; it seems that others have had some success, and I'll post my results once I've given it a shot.

Looks like it worked! ![]()
Check out Cioroianua's post about half way down the page here.
The link to the zipped driver is broken, but this link worked when I tried.
This is an update to 11.8 I believe
EDIT:
Here's a link to the 11.12 drivers! Works on a bunch of cards; just follow their instructions and you'll be up to date!
