I've the same **bleep** problem but in different situation.

AMD Radeon HD 7690M XT 2G

OS Windows 7 X64 SP1

while i'm playing games like Max Payne 3 i've got the same message which: "Display Driver stopped responding and has been recovered".

The drivers for that card our outdated, thus causing various problems. I was having this problem, currently my computer is in for repairs so I can't test this, but one of the opperators on my case told me that you should run in 'Fixed' mode. You can do this by hitting f10 on the boot up and search through her bios settings. Switchable graphics will be set to dynamic, change it to fixed. Not sure if this will fix the problem [probably not] and I can't test it due the the aforementioned reason.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having switchable graphics.

If the driver software is outdated, why HP or AMD just update it??

I've already tried the fixed mode but it doesn't solve this problem, actually the fixed mode just utilize the performance of the AMD graphics card which means if you have dynamic mode the performance of your AMD graphics card is very poor.

My only guess is that it cost money to devlope new drivers and they're satisfied as is.. the only thing we can do is contact them and let them know that this is ineed a problem, otherwise they are going to keep sweeping it under the rug, until eventually it's not their problem anymore. [our warenties expire] My only basis for this is that all their newer modles are now equiped with nvidia cards, and since there has yet to be a driver update or a public announcment from HP. 

It seems for now the best solution is to try ccc 12.2 preview.. but you should really try contacting support about all the issue that you've been having. [I know I am.] So that I know they're aware of the situation.

I think I've 12.2 catalyst drivers but i still have the problems. I've read some posts around here about 12.4 and 12.6 catalyst drivers and how they fixed a lot of problems and how stable they are.

So can you post me a link for their download location to give them a try?

Ok, if HP don't want to spend some money for updating the graphics card drivers so this will be very hard to them as i suppose. Clients will be angry and they just stop dealing with HP and this is the biggest lost for the company.

Hello there, I've downloaded AMD Catalyst 12.4 and 12.6 but it's useless.

I think  that these catalysts don't update the Drivers Packaging Version it's just update the catalyst and some SDKs because when i browse the software information from Graphics properties i noticed that the version of Driver is just the same as before when i was installing catalyst 12.2.

May be that 12.4 and 12.6 beta doesn't designed for AMD HD Radeon 7690M XT.

Can any body tell me what are the supported cards?
