Re: how to dedicate more memory to video

Hi,

I'm afraid you can't increase the dedicated Ram - the capacity is physically built in to the chip.  You may be able to increase the ammount of 'shared ram' by adding more memory to the notebook, but in reality this will likely give little improvement.

Re: how to dedicate more memory to video

Hi,

The ammount of dedicated ram is decided by the manufacturer for that particular chip - is it an Intel chip?

Re: how to dedicate more memory to video

Hi,

I'm afraid it's not a very powerful chip, but there is little that can be done about - graphics chip ( or 'cards' ) are both physically soldered to the motherboard in notebooks and are not an upgradeable component.

Re: how to dedicate more memory to video

Hi,

No it wouldn't - there are quite a few reasons for this, not least is that the bios has a 'Whitelist' of allowed Hardware and would not allow the notebook to boot with a different chip.

Re: how to dedicate more memory to video

Hi,

The allocation must be referring to system ram.
