Re: hp dv9500 screen problem

Same problems all around (9743cl Pavilion) Just started to get the graphics errors really badly on the 10th. No problems at all with the laptop until that day, Hp gave me all this inmforation to help, and it only got worse. If the limited warranty service enhancement does occure, I will be happy, if not, I'm going to Apple for a computer... Getting sick of windows, I'm willing to take the risk of losing alot of games, especially sense I'm becoming a med-student. So durability + graphics + performance = I succed in Radiology.

Re: hp dv9500 screen problem

Yeah, I just got off the phone with someone from hp about my Dv9535nr and the screen problems associated with it. He/she informed me that their engineers trying to figure out if the 9500 models and above models are affected by the graphics problem and if they are we get a free repair. The guy also told me it's a gamble to blow $350 to get it repaired and to just wait till they figure out it's their problem and get a free repair. If infact you do blow your money to get it fixed and it turns out it was their fault you will not be refunded. Sucks!!! my laptop cost me $1500 and is barely 15 months old, I want my money back! C'mon HP put your engineers to figure this mess out!

Re: hp dv9500 screen problem

It seems that I am a brand new victim.

My dv9500 cto's screen became a "colorful" LCD two days ago after working well for 1 and a half years.

1 year Warranty has expired...

Dont know what to do next

Re: hp dv9500 screen problem

I to have had a failure of my dv9500 and same crap from HP, that this series does not fall under the extended warranty.  Obviously these models have also experience issues with the faulty g84's and g86's and something should be done to help us.  Mine died in 15 months.  To me a $1500 piece of equipment should not break down after 15 months of use!  I have such a bad taste in my mouth from HP I swear never again HP never again!

Re: hp dv9500 screen problem

Looks like 15 months is the magic number!!!!!!!  Add me to the list.

I have a p/n RL653AV and I just got the blank screen.  I haven't tried calling yet, just started doing some research and came across this thread...

HP better make some steps to make this right...

Re: hp dv9500 screen problem

Actually, I removed the battery for a few minutes, reinserted it and it booted up ok.  Looks like I still have a few months of computer left (knock on wood)

Re: hp dv9500 screen problem

yeah, it's no fix, it will die in a couple of days. I had to turn mines on an off a lot to get it to work. Then one night it woke up to check my email and my laptop survived the night. After that, I thought my problems were behind me.Unfortunately a couple of days later I went on a trip to Orlando and I woke up to a grey lcd. I wish Hp would get on this sooner than later. Not having a laptop really is an inconvenience.
