You know the BBB is an idpendent company that has nothing to do with the goverment?
A company has to be registered with the BBB for BBB to do anything.
HP IS NOT a member of the BBB.
So stop barking up the BBB tree.
Now the Federal Trade Commission could do something

Actually Yeowoh you are incorrect. The BBB has handled over 5,886 cases/complaints against HP
Yes the BBB is private, but it can still be used as a tool to expose the problem we are having. If HP is bombarded from all directions then it is kinda hard to recognize that there may be a problem. Regardless if HP is attempting to hide this.

I have a dv9500t and the video chip went bad two days ago. I feel your pain. I spent over $1,600 for this thing. I'm an architect and I custom built this laptop to run AutoCad. Now, I know why DELL is an authorized seller of AutoCad products.
As long as I don't put any demands on the chip, the computer will not crash. Now, I have an over priced typewriter. I guess I'll will call HP tomorrow and may get the same run around as well. If I do, I will feel much better about calling DELL and ordering a new computer.
BTW...If you are in the architectural field, buy DELL.

Don't worry about Yeowoa what how ever you spell it. He is thinking that the Stats for BBB is not a good sign. Now things would be different if everyone here filed a complaint about this same problem. Then BBB would be understand that with so many people this is a serious issue.

Sorry if this has been mentioned in the topic already, but...
What are the data recovery/transfer options for those of us in this situation? Without any interface but random lines, I can't run a disk clone program or anything like that, at least not with the defective laptop. Is there a way to recover data with another computer?
