hp pavilion dm4 1165 w/windows 7 after replacing hard drive does not find external display

My hard drive crashed. I replaced it with a new one and loaded windows7. I plugged  in my tv to the html jack and it displays my screen but when i try to chang the display, it does not recognize the tv. I was able to change the display befor the hd crashed. How do I get the computer to recognize the tv?

Try to load this driver if you haven't already. This is for model DM4 1165dx USA model and I picked win 7 64 bit:

If your model is not the dx and is the outside the USA model and/or win 7 32 bit, go back a few screens and find your driver.
