start up time too long

it takes long time to start my laptop, and sometime usb stops working

In my experience the first thing I would check is your hard drive and then your memory. Hit the F10 key repeatedly until the HP utilities come up. Run the hard drive and memory tests. If those pass, you need to think about virus/adware/spyware and start your scans. Other hardware problems can also cause this. Sometimes a defective device plugged into the laptop will slow it down. I gave you the order in which I think your greatest chance of success are.
