Ugh still no luck. :smileysad: I restarted and it just automatically installed the software. But I went to use the webcam and skype and neither worked! I just don't understand how none of this has helped. (And thanks so far btw, you've been great!)

Once a hardware fails (in this case it looks like) than in just fails, you can only try and see, if we have covered all the problem areas related to the symptom...to drive the final nail in to the issue,I would suggest doing a recovery and checking...

So you mean recover it to about 2 weeks ago? Would that erase any new itunes/Word files I've put on my computer, or anything like that?

I am talking about format and reinstall of OS, that will take system back to Factory settings... yes, that would lead to erasing all the files...

Hello, my webcam is doing the same thing. I did however play around with the settings. Eg, brightness and contrast. I've tried to put them back to normal but regardless, the screen remains black.

me too i have that issue. how will i deal with it!.. i uninstalled you cam already.and the hp truevision hd doesnt work either. all is black i need my webcam back.

Hey

So I had the exact same problem with my computer and what you need to do is when you turn on youcam then go to enhance the current video image and go to advanced and then check mark auto next to exposure and sure enough the camera goes back to normal! Hope it works for you too!

I just discovered it's to do with Skype... Open Skype, select Tools > Options>Video Settings>Webcam Settings> tick the 'Low Light' check box and then select OK>Save... Viola!

If it works... pay the Kudos! lol
