webcam not working

After reading this, and other "webcam" posts, I have come to the conclusion my CQ56-219WM does not have a webcam (although the "window" is in the top center of the display).

What I find curious is why HP has webcam drivers and software on these laptops if they don't have a webcam! In addition, why have the "window" built into the display causing people to assume they have a webcam? This is certainly misleading, to say the least.

Although I don't care whether I have a webcam or not, I spent a few hours of my time researching why it didn't work.

So the to avoid a headache just buy a new display cable. That's what i did. My Webcam and my screen is working again like new. I found one on eBay for $16. And it is easy to replace the cable. 

I should have done it right on the first time. 

I hope you people consider about to do it to.

I CAN KNOCK THESE DOWN ONE BY ONE. AND I ENDED UP USING A LOGITECH WEBCAM ON TOP PF MY NOTEBOK NOT WHAT I PAID FOR BUT: TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT NOT HAVING THE IMAGING DEVICE LISTING IN THEIR DEVICE MANAGER, I NEVER HAD THIS IMAGING DEVICE LISTING BEFORE I PLUGGED IN THE LOGITECH, THE CAM COULD NOT HAVE DIED, IT'S BRAND NEW AND THERE IS A SLUE OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME EXACT COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SAME EXACT COMPUTER AND I KNOW I HAVE A WEBCAM IN MY NOTEBOOK THE NUMBERS PROVE THAT. SORRY BUT IM STICKING TO THE SOFTWARE OR DRIVER NOW MAY BE THE PROBLEM - TIME TO CHECK ON THAT.

THANK YOU FOR DIRECTING ME TO WHERE TO GET THE DRIVER, BUT WILL IT INSTALL IT BEING THERE IS NO IMAGING SPOT TO PUT IT IN IN THE DEVICE MANAGER? I WONDER.

I VE BEEN STUDYING THIS PROBLEM FOR FOUR MONTHS AND DOING EVERYTHING THEY SAY TO DO. IM COMING TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THERE IS A MISSING IMAGING PORT AND A MISSING DRIVER. THE CYBERLINK RUN AROUND DIDN'T FIX IT AND THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS IN THE FIRST PLACE. CHANGE OF MIND.

My problem on my HP Mini 210 is that I was able to download the driver but I am not able to see my self when either use the camera or the video. Any Ideas?? HELP???

my hp mini built in web cam is not working and is not showing up in my hardware even though it worked before...i have done a restore to an earlier time and still cam is not recognized...also USB 1 and 2 trouble shooting shows that they are also not working...please help...
