hello, it seems i can add my Compaq Mini notebook EA 700 series to the long list of non-existing webcams. Since yesterday my device manager only shows 'Unknown Device' under Imaging Devices and when searching for drivers, it would only tell me that no driver is installed (Code 28), but also can't find any. How can I find it back?

so i hope it will visible now. It shows my laptop screen with the webcam.
I don't know why the spec. page says that it hasn't a webcam. either my laptop has the wrong lables or the spec. page is wrong. I don't know.

Actually it wouldn't be the first time that a Specs page was wrong. Just another reason it is so hard to diagnose & help with problems from afar.![]()

Download the driver from HP and then double click on the softpaq to install it.
Which OS is installed?

The HP Webcam does not show up under 'Scanners and Cameras' in the Control Panel. At least it never has on any HP laptop I have owned with Vista or Windows 7. It only shows up in Device Manager.
If you have no listing in Device Manager under "Imaging Devices" there seem to be a couple of possibles, imo.
1- The webcam needs to be replugged into the port on the motherboard.
2-some other software/driver has disabled the webcam.
3-the webcam has died.
4- no webcam is present.
