Does Folio 13 2000 support HDMI to VGA adapter?

[ Edited ]

I cant find way how to connect my Folio 13 2000 to projector.  On HDMI to VGA review it shows its compatible only

with Folio 13 1000 model? It mean it shouldnt work with 2000? I can hardly manage to connect it to monitor but with projector, using for example extended option there is no answer from projctor side.  Any ideas?

What model projector are you tryng to connect to?

Are you using an HDMI to VGA converter?

I took a look at the manual for the projector. The image is from the manual for your projector. It appears that  a DVI-I to VGA cable would have probably  been a better option with the video out format set to 1068 x 768. You did not state your location. Are you using the USA projector model?

Your notebook is not shown as being a supported notebook for the HP HDMI to VGA cable that you said you are using. That would seem to be a plausible explaination for  the difficulty you are having with its use with the Folio 13-2000 and the projector.

Re: Does Folio 13 2000 support HDMI to VGA adapter?

The only video out from Folio is  HDMI, there is no DVI out.   Projector got 2 VGA out and 1 VGA in.

I think its from Europe, as we live in Latvia.

 I`ve set it up with:

Native: 1024x768 Pixels

Maximum: 1400x1050 Pixels

But with no results. This projector should auto detect screen as it was mentioned on manual.

There might be a reason why folio 13 1000 is on compability list of HDMI to VGA adapter but folio 13 2000 isnt.

The problem is that I don't know how your notebook is configured. Notebooks, Ultrabooks in your case,  are differently configured for different regional markets.

What is the installed CPU and which video does it have?

Re: Does Folio 13 2000 support HDMI to VGA adapter?

Interesting.

there are some Folio 13-1000 ultrabooks that have the same processor. The video display output is supplied by the CPU when the Intel iCore CPU is installed. That means that they have the same video GPU (Intel HD 3000) that your Folio 13-2000 does.

I have posed an  internal query about this issue. Hopefully HP will provide some enlightening information on the subject soon. I expect that will take a day or so.

Re: Does Folio 13 2000 support HDMI to VGA adapter?

The answer that I got from an internal source is that it should work.  I was given a workaround that is reported to work on some notebook models.
