Hi,

My HP Pavilion g6-1207ev is appearing green and purple lines on the screen. It started out of the blue, they come ang go from time to time but when they appear they remain even after it shuts down or restart.

Any piece of advice???

Thank you in advance!

Hi @phekal

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

So it sounds like you have intermittent video display issues. I am happy to help with this.

When the display glitch happens is it after the computer has been running for some time, or is it immediately after power up?

You mentioned that the problem recurs after a shutdown and restart. Is that an immediate restart or do you leave the system shut down for a period of time?

If the computer is left off, for say a half hour, and then restarted does the display glitch ever happen?

I am trying to determine if it only seems to occur when the computer is hot and has been running, or if it also happens on a cold start. If it only happens when the computer is hot or warm, then it would suggest a heat problem or a board defect. If it happens randomly on a cold start, and often does not occur if the computer has been running for a long time, then it may be a driver conflict of some kind.

If it seems more like a driver issue, then you can download drivers from the support page for your notebook. Just be sure to select the correct operating system, for you notebook first and the next button to refresh the list of drivers.
