I just got my Chromebook 14 two days ago. Ive barely used it and already i saw flickering lines. they dont stay on the screen they just flicker. i dont understand it my laptop is new?

ive searched everywhere and i cant seem to find a solution.

I understand there are lines on your Chromebook display. I'll do what I can to assist you! First, please perform a hard reset of the Chromebook. Sometimes, this will remove these lines since you are resetting the hardware.

 

If that doesn't help, then you should restore your Chromebook. This will reinstall Chrome OS which will eliminate the issue if it is a software conflict.

 

Finally, if these steps do not help, then the computer has a hardware issue. Since it's brand new, you can probably return it, or you can just call HP phone support. You can utilize this website to learn how to contact HP appropriately, based on your region: Contact HP Worldwide

This is most likely a hardware issue; whether it be a defective video card, RAM or a poorly seated connector.  I had the same problem and did a powerwash reset to no avail.  It is disappointing that the quailty control is not tight enough to dissalow defective chormebook/laptops out.
