Pavilion dv7 webcam

I just bought the notebook and my webcam is not recognized by Skype.  Does anyone have any suggestions? This is my first time using Skype and first time with a web cam so am not sure if I need to do something.  I do see myself in the web cam though so am not sure why Skype doesn't recognize it.

  1. Sign in to Skype and in the Tools menu, select Options....
  2. Under Video Settings, if you have a webcam connected, you will see a live picture from your webcam.
  3. If required, and if you have multiple webcams connected to your computer, select a HP Webcam from the dropdown list.
  4.  Click Save.

This solution did not help as I am still receiving a message, "no webcam detected".

Re: Pavilion dv7 webcam

I have the same problem with my notebook "pavilion G6".

I was on skype and out of the blue there was an update. "you cam cyberlink"

Since then video doen't work anymore.

I allready set back the downloaded drivers from the HP support page but still doesn't work.

I tried the things yu said in your screen, that works for 3 minutes.

Then it automaticly change it back to youcam (webcam splitter)

So, I can change it, it does work for 3 minutes and then its set back to webcamsplitter.

and doesn't work anymore

I can't delete that webcamsplitter...

any ideas??
