WEBCAM HAS STOPPED WORKING

When selecting my webcam on Skype and Windows Messenger I had to select HP-101. This choice has disappeared and my only choice is USB Webcam. My webcam is integrated so this does not work. Has my webcam stopped working meaning I need to take the Laptop for repair or is there something I can do to get the correct webcam to be recognised. Thanx in advance for any help. Greg

Re: WEBCAM HAS STOPPED WORKING

Disable it in the device manager, re-enable it and then do a reboot. If that fails, use the recovery manager to re install the software for it, but no a full system forma. That would be disastorous.

Re: WEBCAM HAS STOPPED WORKING

I tried those suggestions but they didn't work. The webcam is not recognised by Windows so it must be that it has malfunctioned. I will get it repaired under the warranty unless someone has other suggestions. Thanx Greg

Re: WEBCAM HAS STOPPED WORKING

It's a HP Notebook HPG60 214EM and yes have tried Windows update and that website you gave me with no luck. Windows just doesn't recognise the webcam so I'll take it for repair when I return from USA next month as I need the laptop on holiday. Greg
