changing from full to widescreen

After a windows update recently my monitor only displays in full screen mode. the right of the monitor screen is blank. Does anyone know how to change the screen back to widescreen? I have a dv5 running vista home premium 64 service pack 2. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: changing from full to widescreen

Hi,

Open windows Control Panel and open Display.  Click the Adjust Resolution link on the right hand side of the window.  In the next window, make sure Orientation is set to Landscape and that the Resolution in the dropdown box is set to recommended - usually the highest setting on the scale.  Click Apply to save any changes.

Regards,

Re: changing from full to widescreen

Hi,

Sorry, that's my fault - thinking of the wrong OS.  Follow the guide on the link below to change the resolution in Vista.

Hope you have better luck with this :smileyhappy:

Best wishes,

Re: changing from full to widescreen

Didn't fix my problem. Microsoft have looked at this and say that it is a hardware problem. The screen has come back to normal by itself but changed back after a reboot.
