my hp dv9000 screen has gone blank

I am trying to find a company to repair it but all say it may only last months after the works done

From your Model series, I would assume the issue is with the video chip and reflowing the chip can work for an unpredictable amount of time.  Quite a few people have had a good result from the service offered on the link below and they do fit a copper shim to allow better cooling of the chip ( heat being the main cause of the problem in the first place ).
