Could you please post complete product/model number of your Notebook? Also are you using 32bit or 64bit of Windows 7?

Re: turn on hardware acceleration

The above info is still incomplete. You can try finding product number using the procedure from below link

Re: turn on hardware acceleration

As I'm unsure if you are using 32/64bit Windows 7 I'm posting links for both of them. Install Display drivers whichever suits   for your Notebook.

Re: turn on hardware acceleration

Thanks for the site info but it said that I already have a newer version. (32bit)

There must be some way to turn on acceleration, I just have not been able to find it.

Re: turn on hardware acceleration

As you have drivers already, try this If your display adapter (video device) and driver both allow Hardware Acceleration.

1. Choose Start > Control Panel.
2. Double click Personalization and select Display Settings.
3. Click Advanced Settings.
4. Click Change Settings on the Troubleshooting tab.
5. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to Enable
6. Click Apply and then click OK to accept the new setting and close the dialog box.
7. Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box.

8. Restart Windows.

Re: turn on hardware acceleration

I suppose that I have a hardware problem, (Intel 954) because it did not work. I really appreciate your patience and efforts.

Re: turn on hardware acceleration

Well, I still feel its not a hardware related issue because I too have faced similar problems earlier. Most of times I run Windows troubleshooter for display and it just works.

Run Microsoft Fixit from below link
