I have a dv6t quad w/ radeon 6770 switchable graphics. I know there is a fix, but is there another?

I un and re-installed my graphics drivers, and it worked, but on some occasions.  I was wondering if there was a more permanent solution?  If there isn't, can I send my laptop out to the manufacturer so they can take a look at it, or possibly replace my laptop?  This problem is really bugging me.

What exactly is the problem with the graphics? Can't have a fix if we don't know what we're fixin'

It's the switchable graphics not working on the laptop.

Have you tried setting fixed mode in bios?

Yea, but I paid for this laptop expecting the switchable graphics to fully work.

If this helps you feel better..I've bought my dv7 with i7 2670qm and 8gigs of ram and 6770m and 1tb od disk..It did sound like "woah all those specs for like 1000eur?" and of course I bought it. Oh yeah and the beats audio. Beats my behind. It's IDT audio with beats logo on it. Anyways I've expected more of the switchable graphics aswell, but my lenovo y570 beats the dv7 like nothing. But let's put it like that. I didn't give up on my dv7 just because I had few HP computers in the past and they were top sh*t and I don't want that to change.

btw, to make you feel even better...When I turn on the fixed graphic mode in BIOS, my pc freezes when it comes in windows. So I'm stuck at youtube low quality videos, windowed mode for bf3, and even my call of duty 2 (the 95' version) uses ONLY the intel hd3000.

Some would agree that my life sucks, but I didn't give up on HP just yet(although I do sincerely hope I'll get a replacement soon )

i think you should , get your notebook fix or replace by HP, you paid for something and that's what you should get , and if they can't or won't fix your problem get your money back save some more and get yourself a MX17 R3 or maybe even a MX18 they are really cheap now a days , especially if you get a refurbish one i seen some go for 1300usd with a i7 2630 envidia 555, 4gb ram and 500gb 7200rpm hd, that's what i was going to do before i got my dv7t , i only payed 800$ for mine and everything works the way is supposed to .....

Thanks for the responses.  Unfortunately, I called, and even chatted with the customer support, but they always referred me to tech support, where no one was able to help me, or even talk with me.  All they said was that I needed to pay for the services they were about to "give" to me.  If there is anyone out there with knowledge about the returning laptop like mine, can you give me directions?  Thanks.
