Please can you assist me with this issue as i realy do like this laptop but this issue is rather frustrating.

On my older machine (Probook 4710) you could update by using the AMD catalyst drivers - these do not affect the driver for this machine tho so I think we are left at the hands of HP to issue a driver that does.

hey, you have to update your amd drivers, visit the amd drivers page or this one that I found
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Page
This is a common issue that OpenGl has with AMD graphics cards, but this should work.
If not, in yous BIOS in the video section, swith it to fixed mode instead of dynamic, this will always run your ATI graphics card.
The first solution should be ok anyway.

If you are checking if your laptop runs certain software, webpages work with intel graphics card, and videogames uses ati graphics, in the analysis should say that.

The intel driver simply fails to install with a message saying I do not meet the min spec to run the driver.
I have already updated my bios to the current f.20 listed on the driver page.
The current CCC package does not install - I can install as an individual package tho and I have the 11.11 drivers.

The root of the issue is that this unit (4730s) only runs integrated graphics for OpenGL applications - and the Intel card only supports OpenGL 3.0. Even tho the HD card supports 4.0
My unit however wont even get the Intel working for Brink - I get the same message above but using the Windows 1.0 driver.
Graphics
Models with integrated graphics (not an option on HP 4730s):
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Microsoft DirectX 10.1 (Shader Model 4.1) and OpenGL 3.0 capable
NOTE: Intel HD Graphics for configurations with Celeron processor
Models with discrete graphics*:
AMD Radeon™ HD 6490M with 512 MB or 1 GB dedicated GDDR5 video memory
Microsoft DirectX 11 (Shader Model 5.0) and OpenGL 4.0 capable
* AMD Dynamic Switchable Graphics technology switches automatically between the Intel integrated graphics and the AMD Radeon discrete graphics to stretch battery life when running typical productivity applications or to enable discrete graphics when running demanding applications. NOTE: This feature requires Windows 7 Professional, Home Premium, and/or Home Basic OS. Full enablement of all discrete graphics video and display features may not be supported on all applications (e.g., OpenGL applications will run on the integrated graphics).
