Switchable Graphics Issue

Hi,

I have HP Pavilion dv6t quad edition and I am having issues with the switchable graphics option. I recently installed Skyrim and it's only picking up my Intel gpu and in the catalyst center it does not pick up Skyrim either. My laptop is up to date on everything. Ideas?

Try this. Enter BIOS settings, and u will find an options related to ur graphics. Change it from Dynamic to Fixed. Restart again. You're done. I know this is a bit inconvenient, but cant help it. HP is too lazy to adress problems fast.\m/

Or return your computer if at all possible and get another brand. Myself and many other people have experienced the wrath of a bad HP product that they fail to address. See the forum below.

Don't let that be you in 3 years! I am telling you, HP will not fix the problems and unless you do not mind years of struggle and disappointment, invest in a different computer.

Hi, i have the exact same machine.

Bethesda has not provided support for discrete graphics. You can configure it so skyrim runs on the radeon but it won't say in the start screen if it does or not. Maybe it will say in the next patch.

Sources - Someone who has 50 + hours on my dv6t quad edition of skyrim.

i know that we can set gpu to fixed in bios but why is it so,is the auto switch issue in
dv6 still unresolved???

the autoswitch was resolved in the latest BIOS update released in august.
