Original thread: http://h20435.www2.hp.com/t5/Gaming/Cooling-Pads/m
I own an HP laptop and am an avid gamer. My gaming tends to overheat my computer and I was wondering what kind of cooling pads/devices people preferred for gaming. I'd like to focus on having a quiet fan and a design that is able to work well when my laptop is on my lap as well as on a flat surface. Thank you!!
please let me know your preference (the name and price) and why you like the product
thank you again!

I have an HP DV7 and am also an avid gamer (COH, IL-2 Sturmovik), the video card can handle many graphics choices, but you could cook an egg next the the video exhaust port, which is bad as you know.
I picked up a cheap Cooler Master, I believe it was only $20 or so, but the problem is that, the intake(s) tend to be small and routing air, or better yet, cool air can be a real challenge.
Even with my cooler, I can really feel the heat coming up through the keyboard and out the exhaust vent, so I'm looking into a very small air conditioner I can vent directly to the video card intake.

I agree with Saitzev. I have the Thermaltake cooler myself that I use for my HP Envy 14 while at home. It helps a lot and has a cool blue led. I picked it up at Frys for about $20 and it is dead silent. I also have one for one the go. It is made Targus is way more portable and does a decent job. The Thermaltake is the best choice if you paly at home because it isn't designed to be prtable but but man can it cool.
