Envy 15-AE121NF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi community,

I am interested in buying an HP 15-AE121NF. I found a great deal on this laptop. (~810€)

I would like to know if it is possible to add an M.2 SSD in this model as this laptop is sold with only a 1TB HDD.

I tried to find the corresponding service & maintenance manual without result.

On the HP webpage I found a quite generic one.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04691689

Any clue about adding a M.2 SSD ?

Regards,

Damien.

Hi,

The following link shows specs of the computer

   http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-15-Notebook-PC-series/8499282/model/11006765/document/c0...

and the manual says:

Support for 6.35-cm (2.5-in) SATA hard drives in 7.0-mm (.28-in) and 9.5-mm (.37-in) thickness
Support for M.2 SATA storage (Port 0) (models with i7 processors and 4 GB discrete graphics memory only)
Accelerometer/Hard disk drive protection support/Cool Sense support

Single hard drive configurations:
● 2.0-TB, 5400-rpm, 9.5-mm
● 1.0-TB, 5400-rpm, 9.5-mm
● 500-GB, 5400-rpm, 7-mm/9.5-mm

SSHD configurations
1TB (5400) + 8GB NAND Hybrid HDD 9.5mm

Dual Storage Configurations (models with i7 processors and 4 GB discrete graphics memory only)

1TB (5400) 9.5mm + 256GB M.2 SATA SSD (TLC)

SSD configurations: (TLC) (models with i7 processors and 4 GB discrete graphics memory only)
256 GB

Sounds good. But some users posted messages: their machines has single storage configuration with HDD and they only know no M.2 slot when opening the case.

Regards.
