17-x116dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I kust purchased a 17-x116dx from Best Buy; love this machine so far.  It currently contains 8 GB of RAM.  I would like to add another 8 GB.  I have some questions:

1 - Are there 2 slots for RAM in this machine?

2 - If answer to question 1 is 'yes" - Does the existing 8 MB RAM take up just 1 slot or 2 slots?

3 - if tha answer to question 2 is "just 1 slot" - then can I simply add an additional 8 MB SODIMM, 260-pin, DDR4-2133 RAM chip / module??

Hi,

Yes there are two slots in the machine

Yes there is just one slot used with 8GB of RAM

Yes you can add such a module.

For best system performance the RAM should be the same. There are kits of 2x8GB RAM for good price online. Your PC supports 16GB od DDR4  2133 RAM

Hope it helps,

David
