HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j023cl N
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have purchased a second internal hard drive for my HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j023cl N.  I need specifications for the connector cable and rubber mounting.  Where can I get them?

Has the correct caddy and cable for sale. I have personally used their product on a very similar model and can vouch.

I have added a second hard drive.  It took a while to get it working.

I have look into mirroring the two drives but have not used Storages Spaces before.  The set up and data moving seems daunting.

I was inpressed by a video I saw using an solid state drive as the boot/windows drive.  Do you happen to know what size and tyoe of SSD I would need to put into my three year old HP Envy?

Any 2.5 inch wide SATA SSD will work...same form factor and physical layout as a mechanical drive just solid state circuitry inside instead of motor and spinning plate.

My go to is a Samsung Evo 850 but OCZ, Kingston, and other major memory makers also make good SSDs. Think of it as a hard drive. You will not be sorry you did the upgrade. Night and day difference in performance.
