Probook 450G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I recently purchased Probook 450 G3 w/WIN 7 Pro [64 bit], and M.2 250GB SSD directly connected to mobo, leaving cavity for HDD empty.  Can I successfully install an HDD [second drive] where it belongs, providing additional working storage?  Do I need to change BIOS or will it automatically detect?  I don't believe power should present any issue, as the currently mounted SSD consumes very little and system was designed for HDD.  The SSD contains the OS and has definite speed advantages.   250GB just not enough for my tasks and prefer not to replace SSD with only HDD [for obvious reasons of restoring OS, drivers, apps, etc.], nor add an external HDD.  Thanks for any insight. I couldn't find similar question for this laptop anywhere on forum.

Hi,

You can add a normal 2.5" HDD or SSD to your machine but you need the following part to house the HDD/SSD

Many thanks.  I'm assuming the answer to the subject question is 'yes'.   I've ordered kit from HP.  Is there a separate connector needed for the HDD add-on?  I didn't see this identified as included in the ordered HP Hardware kit nor as an available separate part, so am assuming that HDD, when mounted in caddy, will plug directly into mobo socket?
