Can't unplug fan from motherboard - compaq 6720s laptop

i’m disassembling this laptop to clean the fan. i’m unable to remove the cpu fan’s connector plug from the motherboard socket. it simply will not slide out horizontally as it’s supposed to. is there perhaps some undocumented catch-type mechanism i first need to release, or something like that?

Take a picture and others could see how to take it off?

Re: Can't unplug fan from motherboard - compaq 6720s laptop

Hello,

thank you for the suggestion.

At the end with a lot of care and patience I finally managed to pull it off.

All I did was slowly shake it from side to side until it went out.

Thanks again and best regards,

Philippe
