Good day to all 🙂 ..

 

So.. first of all few days ago i noticed that my cpu fan isn't working... stoped spinning.. so i tought i might clean it up little.. i took my laptop apart successfully and cleaned fan put everyting where it belongs and tried to power laptop, i heard the fan spinning for a second i tought i did good job but screen didn't turn on... LED lamps from NumLock and CapsLock are flashing 3times, then it stops then again flashing  3 times.. Guys please help :S

Hi @fichek ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your Compaq Presario CQ61 Notebook and getting just the fans on startup. Try performing a hard reset.


When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.


Here is a link to computer won't start for Windows 7.

 

Have you connected the Notebook to a monitor? Here is a document on how to connect to a monitor if you need it.

 

You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which could resolve the issue with the fans.
