I want to disable the touchpad. The double-tap doesn't work. There is no icon for the touchpad in the taskbar. When I click on Control Panel/Mouse, there is no device manager tab. When I go into the device manager itself, there's one entry for Synaptics SMBus Driver, which appears to be the only entry which deals with Synaptics, which is what I assume my touchpad is. There is an option for disable device; it has no effect on the touchpad. Under "mouse and other pointing devices," there are two entried: HID-compliant mouse, and PS/2 compatible mouse. Neither of them has a tab which would allow me to disable the touchpad.
What am I doing wrong?
