HP Envy 15t-ae116tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am about to add an M.2 SSD on my HP Envy 15t-ae116tx.

I just have a few questions regarding the best setup that I should use:

1. If I have both an HDD and M.2 SSD, where should I put my Windows installation and why?

2. Would it be better to just put a bigger SSD as replacement of my HDD? In line with this, the limit for an M.2 SSD on my laptop is 250/256GB. If I opt the sata type of SSD, is it safe to assume that I can put as much as 500GB or even 1TB?

Thank you again in advance! I really appreciate how fast the replies in this forum are.

Put Windows on the M.2 because it is faster and everything will perform better.

Your M.2 options are not limited by size. The Manual just lists the biggest HP offered for sale with the laptop.

You could install a higher capacity M.2 of the correct type.
