thoroughly unsatisfactory offer from HP. 

 

They did get back to me promptly, they did pretend that they cared about what is now MY problem, and they DID say they would fix the problem that THEY created for $250.00 and 7 days without my computer.

 

That is roughly half of the machine's value, and it's not even 2 years old.

 

i am unhappy with HP - they have confirmed what I've thought about them all along.

I have this same problem on my hp and I don't know what to do. I barely reached a year with the laptop and now it keeps breaking when I try to open or close it.

My hp envy also has this issue. The screws fell out without me noticing.

This hinge / case issue has occurred on an Envy that I bought for my son. Please let me know how to go about getting this repaired.

My Touchsmart 17 has the same problem as the rest of you. It has gotten so bad that I have to physically hold it together while opening the screen to keep the base and palmrest from completely separating. Very very bad design.
