I have an HP Mini 110-3100 on Windows 7 Home. I unplugged it to take it to work per the usual and it shut off. I plugged it back in to find that the battery lists itself as "0% available (plugged in, charging).
I ran the Power, Thermal, and Mechanical troubleshooter via HP Support Assistant. It reads "The battery is functioning correctly, but it has not been charged recently. The battery should be charged completely before removing the AC adapter."
I checked the HP Battery Recall program and this netbook does not seem to be listed.
It is clearly not functioning properly. Is this a hardware problem with my laptop? Is it a problem with the battery? Is it software? I don't want to shell out $80 for a batter on a laptop I've only had for two years and which cost me $300.
Suggestions? I seriously hope it is the battery... maybe EBay has a battery?

Mine is doing the same. (0% available, plugged in, charging)
I used it one day, the battery died, I went to bed. I woke up the next day plugged it in but it won't charge at all, despite the fact it says "charging."
I've had it for just over a year, I don't fancy getting a new battery just yet. I see all these troubleshooting things saying to power up the laptop (without the power connected) however I am on 0% and the laptop doesn't function without the power cable being connected.
Any ideas? Do I REALLY need to get a new battery?

Since today i'm having the same problem. My HP Mini 110-3100 is just 1,5 years old.
Battery won't charge, although it's says it's charging.
I already did the battery check which says the battery is fine and that the battery 'has not been charged recently'.
Do I have to buy a new battery or will a new battery also eventually fail?

Hey, my mini is doing the same thing! I bought a new charger to see if that was the problem, its not. And the battery check says the same thing too. Has anyone found out what the problem could be? ( I didn't read all the way down) Thanks for all your help.

i have the same proble.
This is for sure a problem on this battery or computer, maybe the charging circuit but i hope not.
Can anyone from HP check this problem?
Is the battery series or what?
Is there a solution to avoid to change the battery?

Same problem here. Blinking orange light...
Nothing helped. Bios battery diag program just stucks at 0%.
Found a lot of the HP Mini 110-3100 at EBay with defect battery.
What's wrong here? Will I get warranty / a battery replacement?
