Hi,

Have you tried Crucial tool ? It only supports 8GB max that means 4GB x 2. The Kington 8GB won't work. You can also buy from

        https://www.amazon.com/599092-001-Hewlett-Packard-1333mhz-Pc3-10600-Sodimm/dp/B00DUGHZ3G

Hi,

Please read page 60 on the following manual to get the right part number:

      http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c02439213-2.pdf

The manual also shows you how to add/replace RAM.  You can also use Crucial tool to get the right RAM

Thank you so much Banhien

I have referred to the  document and this is what it recommends

4-GB (PC3-10600, 1333-MHz, DDR3) 599092-001

The particular ram I was referring to is

Kingston ValueRAM 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 CL11 Portable Memory 1.5V

I notice that there is a different MHZ number, but do you think this would be an issue?

Thanks again,

I just downloaded the HP manual. It says that the maximum memory on the 4520s is 4 GB of RAM. The manual also shows only a few processor types yet other sites show additional Intel processors that the 4520s come in. For example CNET shows an Intel i5-460M , but this processor is no where to be found in the HP owners manual. Its all very confusing as normally the manufactures manuals are always thorough and complete. I rely heavily on these manuals for my business. I need accurate and complete information. Can you explain if all models of 4520s accept 8 GB? Im also curious why I am not seeing a complete list of processors.
