Probook 6560b
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello Experts,

Trying to improve the behaviour of my laptop (Probook 6560b), I've tried to install a SSD instead of the CD unit, by using a Caddy.

All good, but the SSD is not installed since it was not validated in the Bios.

As the admin account was not implemented at the initial setup of the system, I have no password to recover. Also the fingerprint or the stupid questions were not activated.

I use the BIOS pass three times with no error code.

The CMOS reset doesn't help, either.

So, if you please can help me with the clear BIOS which can help me re-start the admin registration, that will be a great help.

Thank you,

Emil.

Insert clean USB flash drive.

Then run USB Image tool.

Choose the flash drive then click on RESTORE.

After restore remove flash drive.

Insert flash drive into locked laptop and boot.”If HDD is installed remove before booting.”

At C:\OUTPUT   type CD..   “Then hit enter”

Type HPBR   “Then hit enter”

First thing is to save your settings.

Select #3 re-program.

Press “S” to save system information.

Type HPBR and hit enter.

Since your model is not listed select “SHOTGUN.”

After reboot repeat “SHOTGUN” a second time.

Some instructions here. “If you cannot boot from USB there are instructions to make a bootable HDD.”

Thank you, REO.

The program.

Also, mentioning the program, I have special thanks to the father (the one in the Credits section) as beeing father of a IT student. But mine was so busy and have no time for my little problems.

Emil.

And I finally install the SSD, joining the HDD, by using the HDD caddy and removing the optical drive. It works (boots from SSD) only with the SSD in the HDD bay. And I use a cloning software EaseUS Backup.

News

Replacing the laptop I've tried to save the SSD that I was installing one year ago.

The BIOS password works with the procedure destribed before.

But the SSD was DRIVELOCK -ed, and I am stocked again.

I don't want any data, only to clear the SSD for a new computer.

Any help, please.

Later edit>

I've found the old password. And now I am disabling all the passwords...for the hardware.
