Hi, I own the HP Spectre x360 - 15-ap012dx (ENERGY STAR), which came preconfigured from Best Buy with the UHD display and 256gb SSD. I have two questions about this device:
1. Can I upgrade the SSD to an NVMe PCI-e SSD such as the Samsung 960 EVO (which is an M.2 SSD). I know a recent BIOS update added support for new Samsung SSDs, but I want to make sure before I buy one.
2. Can I charge my Spectre via the USB-C port? From what I understand, it might support USB Power Delivery (it's a 3.0 port, not a new Thunderbolt 3 port)
Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Spectre x360 - 15-ap012dx and would like to know if you can upgrade to Samsung 960 EVO (which is an M.2 SSD) and if you can change the laptop via the USB-C port?
I did some research nd found that you may upgrade to an M.2 SSD. However, there a limit to the storage space it can support. Up to 500GB should not be a problem. Please review this link to know how to replace the SSD: http://hp.care/2kf7u4r
Regarding the USB type C port for charging, I suggest you to review this link which gives details about provide charging power to many devices (USB Power Delivery or PD): http://hp.care/2keRWgS
Hope this information helps. Keep me posted for any additional questions. All the best! 🙂
