Hi,
The HP boot test says the hardrive is failing and I need to know what type of hardrive(s) this machine is capable of handling.
Is there a webpage that says what harddrive (and possibly other upgrade info) for this device?
Current HD - HDD 640G 5400RPM SATA RAW 2.5IN
Thanks for your time.
Rob
bonus quesiton - how to use the Recovery section of the hardrive!

Hi @rmccon!
I'm sorry to hear about what happened with the drive, I know how unpleasant such a thing could be...
As for the replacement unit, you can take a look at the Manual of the product and see the list of compatible types of drives you can use on page 44 - basically any 2.5" 9.5mm should do the job. For a particular HDD model, you can check WD Blue which is meant for everyday usage:

Also, you can use the detailed guide there on how to replace the HDD too. Here's the link to the manual itself:

Lastly regarding your Recovery question, you can take a look at this KB article:

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions you may have. 🙂
