How to reconnect USB port

Hi, recently, Windows can't read my USB port, so whenever I connect something, it never works. They say I have to reconnect my USB port to my computer, but I don't know how. Please help! How do I reconnect it? My OS is Windows 7. This is basically what happens: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/2793/75694139.png Thanks in advance!

Re: How to reconnect USB port

Go into the device manager and uninstall the USB driver associated with the trouble port.  When you reboot Windows will reinstall the driver. The try plugging in your device.

Re: How to reconnect USB port

I'm having the same problem with my new Hp laptop operating Win 7. My USB ports are not always recognized. I have to unplug what I'm using and reconnect my mouse just to get it to work. I'm not liking this at all. Two USB ports are behaving this way. Sorry I can't help you but I got up early to work on this problem today.
