That's exactly what I wanted to know! Appreciate the feedback.
I just ordered the 512gb drive as well and the pricing is still the same so we're defintely getting a solid deal...especially since it's a samsung drive.
Have you seen any hit on the battery life? This is my first encounter with M.2 NVMe drives and some of the reviews i've read for the different drives on the market indicate reduction in battery life.

Received mine last week and was surprised to see that it was actually the new PM961. Not bad at all!
As for the overall capactiy, the service manual for my 15-as014wm has SSD options that only go up to 512gb (the one purchased). However, is that the max allowed? What would stop me from using a 1TB M.2 nvme drive?
I tried to contact HP Parts Customer Serivce and their feedback was "your computer does not allow any SSD." That's not very helpful.
