Pavilion p045tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion p045tx laptop which is 2.5 years old and still under warranty and accidental damage protection. But today it encountered some problem in Hard Disk. When I try to boot my laptop, it shows an error that, "No disk found".

I guess I should call for replacement of my internal Hard Disk. But will the cost will be covered under warranty or will I have to pay the cost?

Hi,

Usually manufacturer warranty with hardware /component support is 1 year. HP would replace failed components free of cost during this period only. Which region are you from?

Please try to troubleshoot this issue first: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01443463

I am from India.

I have tried troubleshooting. The hard disk testing shows that it has too many bad sectors.

Anyways Thanks.

Hi,

Manual: page 105, 106

Replacement of HDD needs major disassembly to be done. Get help from good technician if you're not confident enough.

Any 2.5 inch 7mm/9.5mm thick SATA internal HDD or SSD will be good.

Use Recovery discs/USB you should've created after first setup of this laptop, to factory reset OS after replacement.

You can take out HDD and connect it to another computer using SATA to USB adapter, then copy the files you can.
