From the Manual:
Supports up to 8GB of system memory
The most HP offered it with from the factory is 6 gigs which is a 4 gig module and a 2 gig. But it will take 8 which would mean discarding the 2 gig module and replacing it with a 4 gig module identical to the one that is in it to have dual channel memory operation. It uses DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM
4 GB PC3 10600 1333 MHz shared 621569-001

Although its hard to read, each module will say on it on the label whether it is a 4 gig or a 2 gig. Or they will have the HP Part number on them and I have given you the part number for the 4 gig.
See on this module in the upper right (it's upside down) SPS: 621569-001....that shows it is a 4 gig module. If you have trouble just open the memory door on the bottom of the laptop and tell us what is printed on each one and we can tell you which is 4 and which is 2.
