I need to upgrade my RAM memory which is currently only 4gb Samsung 1600Mhz (shown in memory slot 1). Could it be possible to add new memory chip for my laptop, is there any other slot available in my Notebook where i can add a new Memory chip along with the existing one to increase memory. what is maximum memory upgradable for HP Notebook - 15-r121ne .

Supports dual-channel memory
Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:
● 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2) or (4096×2) (not for 32-bit operating system or Windows 7 Home)
● 12288-MB total system memory (8192×1 + 4096×1) (not for 32-bit operating system or Windows 7 Home)
● 8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2) (not for 32-bit operating system)
● 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1 + 2048×1) (not for 32-bit operating system)
● 4096-MB total system memory (4096×1) or (2048×2)
● 2048-MB total system memory (2048×1)
Currently it has 4GB in one slot

You can buy SAME 4GB RAM to make a total of 8GB or you can add 8GB more to have 12GB. The following informatio (part number) may help:
