Hi, in the manual for my G62 a35er (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02542102) said that it can support up to 8GB of RAM memory, but the highest supported configuration in the manual is 2x2GB (4GB).
How can I find out what kind of config do my laptop supports? (2x4GB - 8GB in total / 2x8GB - 16GB in total)

Right in the Manual, bottom of p. 1:
Supports up to 8 GB of system memory
The example configurations they give just list the ways it was sold so apparently it was only sold with up to 4 gigs of memory but can use and accept 8 gigs (2 x4).
This is the listed memory module:
4 GB (for model 1.1 only) 599092-001
For the 1st generation Intel Core notebooks it is important that you use low density 8 black blocks per side memory modules only.
