HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a RAM size of 6GB on my machine. I would want to increase my RAM size to 16GB. Please let me know if

Here are the details of my machine

Processor: Intel Core(TM) 2Duo CPU P7450  2.13GHz

Installed Memory: 6GB

Slots:2 (2 banks of 1)

Hi @SCK1,

 

This computer is only showing the 6MB configuration.

As it  has two memory slots, you should be able to upgrade to a max of 8mb. Remove the 2MB memory and replace with 4GB, PC3-10600, shared DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM part number 641369-001.

 

That part can be ordered from Hp Part Surfer.

supported parts for your computer, go to http://partsurfer.hp.com, select your country or region, and then
follow the on-screen instructions.

Since it has memory slot can i not add 2 8GB cards?

@SCK1,

 

No the maxium is 8Gb with 2x4Gb cards for this computer. if you go to HP Part sufer , You will see only list 2 Gb and 4GB memory.
