2 customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots DDR3-1333-MHz and DDR3-1600-MHz dual channel support Supports up to 16384-GB of system RAM @ 1333-MHz, supports up to 8192-GB of system RAM @ 1600-MHz,
For most users, 8 gigs running at 1600 mhz will provide better performance than 16 gigs at 1333. Most users never tap the memory between 8 and 16 gigs in normal computer operation unless you are editing video, compiling Code or doing something else very memory intensive.
